You're My Twenty-Four

Guess who's officially in her mid-twenties? ðŸ™‹‍♀️🎂🎈
I thought my birthday nails had peaked at 21, but this set is giving them a run for their money.

I got some PR packaged from essie in 2019, one of which was a birthday/celebration collection. In that set there was a glitter topper called "Birthday Girl" and I made it my goal to use it for my bday nails!

This was the first time in a couple of years that I managed to get my birthday nails posted on my actual birthday - usually I'm running behind with multi-post designs and need to push back the post. This year [2019], however, I was flying out to Mexico with some friends the next day, so I had to be on top of things.

Since I'd done a couple of intricate designs before this one, my birthday gift to myself (aside from the KaiBaek versions of the SuperM album that I bought) was to paint a pretty simple design that only took me like an hour to paint instead of five.

My inspiration for this design was the classic number birthday candles that you can get for cakes. They're so recognizable and fun, I thought it would be a really cute and easy look for the occasion!

Suggested listening with this design:
While the soundscape doesn't particularly fit the aesthetic of the design, I would like to recommend EXO's Twenty-Four to go along with these nails!
I like to keep track of songs with numbers as the title (or as prominent parts of the lyrics) and kind of count them as birthday songs for the ages they represent. As I turned 24 this year, EXO's song seemed appropriate! As you can probably tell, I even took the title of this set from the lyrics.
(I don't think I mentioned this is previous years, but age-related songs have included: 21 by Dean, 22 by Taylor Swift, and Twenty-Three by IU)
