I’m going to be ringing in the New Year in my favourite way - with my nails literally dripping with glitter! ✨🥂🍾
I've done designs quite similar to this for New Years in the past (I really like glitter for NYE, what can I say?), but I particularly liked this year's design because the numbers were made out of glitter as well. The sheer base also worked well with this year's trend towards more minimal, negative space designs.
I also got to spend the new year in my other favourite way: visiting my best friends out west! This year was a Calgary year, so we all met up in Alberta for our annual catch-up-and-hang-out-week (#AdultFriendships). It was my first time visiting Alberta, so it was fun to get to explore Calgary and Banff with my friends! We spent New Year's Eve walking around Zoolights at the Calgary Zoo before heading downtown to grab dinner and see the fireworks at Calgary Tower.
Leaving behind 2019 and going into 2020 a lot of people, myself included, had high hopes for the new year and new decade. Writing this post a year later, I know what kind of a year 2020 ended up being, but as this design was painted before all of that, I want to let this design retain some of its optimism for the year ahead.
Even in times of darkness, I hope all of your moments of happiness in 2020 glitter just as brightly as these nails.
