I'm Addicted

I was at Target the other day and they happened to have Essie's new neon collection so obviously I had to get some of them to try.
I'm pretty impressed at how quickly I used them, usually my new purchases end up sitting around for a month before I get inspired for a design. This time around I decided to do a bit of a reprise of my neon tribal design from last summer, though the colour scheme is completely different. I think I've stepped up my tribal designs in the last year, (though I still need to work on my lines...)

But yes, Essie's neons are great as expected, a little thin but I find a lot of their polishes are so that wasn't really a surprise. The colours are awesome and eye-catching, I can't stop looking at my hands! This also gave me an excuse to use Essie's Belugaria again which is always fun!

Products Used:
Essie - 008 Blanc
Essie - 720 Licorice
Essie - 964 Belugaria
Essie - 1065 I'm Addicted

Rough Around the Edges

I decided to try out two things I've been meaning to try for a while now: Ikat and OPI's Push and Shove.

I've been thinking about doing an ikat manicure for a while and the opportunity finally arose when I needed something to pair with Push and Shove. I love how bright it is and how forgiving it can be.

As for Push and Shove, I've been wanting to try it for a while and was glad to get the opportunity to do so. It's a great polish, one of the best chrome polishes I've tried. I was going to leave the index and pinky fingers with only Push and Shove but broke down and added Essie's Belugaria for a ruffian look. I think they're great paired together!

Products Used:
Coco & Lulu - 992 Riviera
Essie - 964 Belugaria
OPI - Push and Shove
OPI - Lay Down That Base
Sally Hansen - 300 White On
Sally Hansen - 370 Black Out
Seche Vite - Quick Dry Top Coat

Domino Game

In a surprising turn of events, my first kpop-inspired manicure of the year is for the rookie girl group Kiss&Cry. I happened to see the mv for their debut song Domino Game and couldn't resist using some of their outfits for a nail design.

xoxo

Oh look, SM decided to release the Drama Version of the Wolf MV yesterday with no warning whatsoever.
On the bright side, I found out about the drama ver. this morning as I was about to redo my nails so I took some inspiration from the video.

I tried out a bunch of different things in this manicure. I have a textured polish on my index fingers, (not sure if I'd recommend painting anything over the textured polish, it's hard to make the lines look good), caviar beads on my left ring finger, splatter on my left middle finger and acrylics on my thumbs.

The eyes were kind of hard to paint, (since I don't really like painting in general - surprising, I know), but I think I'm getting the hang of painting my nails with acrylics.

I love the caviar beads, the whole textured thing is really cool.

And as for the video itself, if you haven't seen it you should go watch it. Luhan shouldn't be allowed to look that pretty. He also shouldn't push Kyungsoo, tsk.

Denim Jeans

A few months ago I bought a denim nail polish and never got around to actually using it for a manicure, so when my studs came in from bornprettystore, I knew that I just had to combine the two.
Can you tell that I tried to get the jean texture? No? A little? Anyways, I did press the almost-dry polish into some old jeans to get the texture, and though it isn't as noticeable as I would have liked, I still think it adds to them.
As for the studs, I absolutely love them! I've only had this manicure on for a day, so as of now I'm not sure about how long they'll stay on, but I adore the way they look and I think I'm going to have to talk myself out of using them every week from now on!

Products Used:
Revlon - 955 Quick Dry Base Coat
Maybelline - 20 Styled Out
Essie - 941 Good As Gold
