Fall Floral

Back at it again with the fall florals!

Today's design is inspired by a fabric swatch I saw on Pinterest made by @weehourshandmade!

I loved the colours in the swatch, and thought the flowers really fit my style of painting so I decided to give it a go! I really love how this design turned out; it's definitely a favourite of mine from 2019. I feel like that's something I've said a lot about the last couple designs, but I just really vibed with my fall designs in 2019, what can I say.

The alternate title of this design is "80s Sofa," which I honestly forgot about until I opened up the file with all the products I used for the design. Now that I see it again, I definitely wanted to name it that because it reminds me so much of the couch in my grandparents' house when I was younger.

The base colour I used for this design is It's a Pizza Cake from OPI. It looks lighter in the photos than it did in person; it's a bit of a darker, less yellow-y orange, so the second picture with the sweater is a bit more accurate.

I had someone comment on the IG post asking about the longevity of the OPI base because she had had issues with the brand before. This was one of my first OPI polishes and I have to say that I didn't have any problems with it chipping. To be fair though, I don't tend to have issues with any polishes chipping as I'm quite gentle with my hands, so it might be a result of that and less to do with the polish formula itself, who knows.

Products Used:
Butter London - Priming Base Coat
CND - Palm Deco
CND - Vinylux Topcoat
Essie - Licorice
OPI - It's a Pizza Cake
Sally Hansen - White On

xo,
Becca.
