Soft as Stone

Originally posted on April 25th, 2019.

Unlike the vast majority of my designs, this one is not actually hand painted. Today I'm trying out some nail stickers that I got as a PR sample from Twinkled T!

Gimme That, Gimme That Ice Cream

Who wants some ice cream??
Even though I'm surrounded my ice cream all summer (I work at an ice cream shop) I'm still not tired of it and even love it enough to wear it (in the form of charms) on my nails!

Molang (+ Tutorial!)

I'm revisiting another old design of mine today, this time it's one that you should all be pretty familiar with - my Molang nails! I've been using this design as my display picture across all of the blog's social media for almost a year now and a few weeks ago I got a request on Tumblr to do a tutorial for it!

View

Hey guys! I have another kpop design for you today (sorry to my followers who don't listen to this kind of music; a lot of groups I like just happen to be having comebacks all around the same time which is why I've been inundating you with these designs!). My muse for this design is SHINee, and more specifically the music video for View, the promotional single off their 4th Album Odd.

Hoppy Easter (+ Tutorial!)

Please forgive me for the lame title, I'm running low on creativity today and that was the best I could do haha!
Anyways, as promised I have some Easter nails for you today and, as you may have guessed, they feature some cute little bunnies!

♥ Me

Hey guys! I'm sure you all know that Valentine's day is coming up this Saturday and I couldn't be more excited. Not about the holiday itself (/cough singles awareness day), but because it gives me a valid excuse for designing some really-super-girly, pastel pink nails! Woo!

Sugar and Spice (+Brush Set Review)

Hey lovelies, I hope you're all doing well! Or at least better than I am, anyways. Like pretty much everyone else right now I seem to have picked up a cold over the weekend and man is it draining. But fear not - if you happen to have a cold as well or are just tired of the bleak winter weather then I have some flowers to hopefully brighten your day and remind you of warmer times to come!

Cozy Christmas Sweater

It has come to my attention that I've been using a lot of blue for my holiday manicures. While I do love that colour I think it's about time to mix it up with some pastel pink!

Warm Wishes

Second winter design! I'm really excited about this one because it's a combination of sweater nails (which I've been meaning to do forever) and tea which are basically my two winter essentials. How is tea involved in this you may ask? Well, after seeing a ton of super cute Tim Horton's holiday cups around campus I picked up a tea for myself so that I could use the cup as reference for a design!

Product Review: Silver Flat-Back Rhinestones

More reviews for Born Pretty Store! Don't forget to check out their nail art section for the product I'm reviewing as well as other cool items!

Today I have some silver rhinestones to review. I'm not going to lie, I literally spent over an hour trying to figure out just what to do with these rhinestones. In the end I decided on this super cute design!

Product Review: 2.5mm Pearl Rhinestones

Hey guys, today I’m reviewing some rhinestones for Born Pretty Store! You can find these studs and more in the Nail Art Section of their website!
The rhinestones that I’m reviewing can be found here and look like little multi-coloured pearls! I knew right away what I wanted to do with these studs: mermaid nails!

The rhinestones are 2.5 mm in diameter and come in a one-wheel set that should contain 360 pieces (I can’t say the exact number I received since I didn’t count them, but there were a fair amount of beads in the package!)

For this design I decided to do a three-tone ombré on 4/5 nails and then a sand-covered accent nail. For the ombré nails I started out with a white base, sponged on the colours, and then topped it off with a thin coat of glitter polish. For the accent nail, I started off with a beige base and then, with the nail polish still wet, dipped my nail in some sand.

image

After I had the base done, I added some detail in white polish and then it was time to start adding embellishments! To apply the rhinestones I used tweezers to pick them up and dip the flat side in nail art glue before positioning them on the nail.

Some pros and cons that I found with these studs:
Pros: They sit well on the nail and look lovely on, as well as having a nice variety of colours to choose from
Con: They are an absolute pain to pick up. Since the tops of them are rounded, it’s very difficult to get a grip on them with tweezers or even with your fingers.Be prepared with some patience when applying these!

With that being said, I do like this product even though applying them can be a little trying. The rhinestones are versatile and could be used in a number of designs. These rhinestones sell for C$4.34 (US$3.99) for one wheel with free worldwide shipping.
Don’t forget, you can use the coupon code FHX31 for 10% off at Born Pretty Store!
I hope you enjoyed reading!

Becca

Pastel Pop-Art Peeps

Interesting story behind these (kind of, not really).
I had no idea what I wanted to do in terms of Easter nails (I always seem to run out of inspiration when it comes to holidays or big events...)  and spent a good amount of time browsing Google images for inspiration. I was close to doing traditional Lithuanian/Polish Easter eggs, but I also kind of wanted to do Peeps. My roommate and I finally decided that I should do Peeps and as I continued to browse Google, I came across the following image:

I joked that I should do Pop Art Peeps after my last Pop Art design and it ended up being decided that I would indeed be painting Pop Art Peeps on my nails.

I hope everyone had as interesting an Easter as I did!

Mr. Mr.

It's that time again: Comeback Time! SNSD just came back with their 4th Mini Album Mr. Mr. and I once again just had to make a manicure based off of their title track.

Easter Eggs & Mini Eggs

I'm not one to let a holiday go by without a manicure to commemorate it, so here are my Easter nails for this year!
I tossed around a few different ideas for this manicure, (rabbits, baby chicks and traditional Lithuanian eggs to name a few), before settling on this design.
I've done a mix of regular Easter eggs, (on the thumb and ring finger), and Mini eggs!
I used this tutorial for the mini eggs, and I must say I absolutely adore them! I'll definitely be using the white-wash technique for future designs ~
