BT21

Originally posted on September 29th, 2019.

I’m mildly embarrassed to admit that it’s taken me nine months to add BT21 to my Character Cuticles series ðŸ™ˆ

I've had soooo many requests for BT21 nails over the years and they really are a) exactly my style of art, and b) kpop inspired, so I’m not sure why it took me this long to paint them 🤷‍♀️ BUT, better late than never, so say hello to Shooky, Cooky, Tata, Chimmy, Mang, RJ, Koya, and Van!

Obviously with eight characters all of them weren't going to fit on one hand, so I had to make the decision of how to split them up. I thought about going in BTS' age order, but ended up making the decision purely based on which characters I thought would be the easiest to paint with my non-dominant hand - I haven't painted much with my left hand in years, so I needed to go easy on myself.

Since I made a tutorial for this design, I painted all of the characters twice, but I actually ended up painting Mang three times. Once for the original design, once on camera for the tutorial, and once again on the pinky finger of my right hand so that I could get all the characters in frame for the tutorial's thumbnail. Needless to say I could probably have painted Mang in my sleep by the end of it!

If you want to try painting these cute little guys for yourself you can find the tutorial below. If you do try them out, remember to tag me with #looknyanails or @nyanails on IG so that I can see them!

Enjoy!
