MAMAMOO has been one of my favourite girl groups for a while but somehow I'd never made a nail design for any of their songs/music videos before gogobebe.

I loved how fun this song was and the visuals were pretty cool, so I decided to finally break the drought and paint some MAMAMOO nails.

Just gonna say straight up that everything about EXO's Love Shot comeback killed me. The song, the styling, the music video, the choreo... I was perfectly happy to watch the music video over and over again while planning this design.

DAY6 Youth Tour

Back in November I was lucky enough to see DAY6 live for the second time (and to get Hi-Touch tickets for the second year in a row as well). As expected from DAY6 the concert was awesome, and as with all the concerts I go to, I needed to have my nails decked out for the occasion.

BTS Love Yourself World Tour

Tickets for BTS' Love Yourself tour went on sale suuuper early, but I was lucky enough to snag a P1 ticket when they went on sale back in May. Once September rolled around and it was finally time to go to the concert I was pretty excited and, as always, needed my nails to be decked out for the occasion!

IDOL

Ah, IDOL. What an interesting music video. I'm pretty sure the first time I watched it I sat there questioning what the artistic director was on while coming up with the concept. After watching it many, many more times to plan out this design, I was still kind of feeling a bit overwhelmed by just how much stuff was going on. 🤷‍♀️
I did, however, end up narrowing things down and picking out some specific scenes that I felt showcased the overall vibe of the mv.

Dance the Night Away

This is the first Twice design I've ever painted! I know, I know, what took me so long? To be honestly, Twice's comebacks always seem to happen when I'm busy with other things so I've just never found the time to make any of their mvs into nail designs. 🤷‍♀️ 

I had a fun time with this one though and use the Day-to-Night progression of the music video as inspiration for the design!

Our Page

Inspired by SHINee's Our Page, this design was one of my favourites from the year for both its visuals and its sentimentality. If you're new here or just don't remember, I love SHINee. I love their music, I love their personalities, and I admire their strength as a team and as individuals. That's why making this design inspired by Our Page, a song written for Jonghyun, was so important to me. 

DDU-DU DDU-DU

After a little over a year, Blackpink is finally back with their first mini album SQUARE UP! I've never done a nail design for Blackpink before since their comebacks have always been at inconvenient times (AIIYL came out when I was still in Korea last year), but DDU-DU DDU-DU was actually released at the perfect time for me so I finally got induct them into the ranks of groups that I've made nail designs for!

Blooming Day

I don't know about anyone else, but I was a little surprised about the general vibe of EXO-CBX's latest comeback. Compared to Hey Mama! and KA-CHING!, Blooming Day is a lot more chill but I was definitely still feeling the album. 
The music video for Blooming Day was really pretty and aesthetic, and I wanted to capture that minimalism in this design.

Black Dress

A little while ago CLC came back with a new concept for their album and title song "Black Dress." CLC is another one of my favourite girl groups, so I really wanted to put together a nail design for this comeback!

Shinin'

When SM first announced that they would be releasing Jonghyun's final album I was a little surprised at how fast it came. It was released just over a month after his passing, and honestly all of the emotions were, and still are, pretty raw. But everything else aside, Jonghyun is a true poet, a true artist, and being able to listen to Shinin' and then entire Poet | Artist album was a gift.

Universe

I may live in Canada, but I'm not a big fan of the cold weather. Regardless, I'm always excited for December because of EXO's Winter Album releases! This year they released their Fourth Winter Special Album with the title song Universe, and the cafe theme of the music video gave me some fun ideas for a nail design!

DAY6 Live and Meet in Toronto 2017

Hey guys! So some of you may already be aware, but back in October I was able to get tickets to see Day6 live in Toronto! As with the other concerts I've had the privilege of attending in the past few years, (EXO'luXion in Vancouver and Shinee World V in Toronto), I wanted to do a nail design for it!

The first half of this post will talk a little bit more about the nail design, and then in the second half I'll go a bit more in depth on my concert experience! ✌
