Peanuts

Hey guys!
A little while ago I received a purple holo polish from Born Pretty Store to review, and after I swatched it I decided to add a design over top of it for spring!

Abstraction

After swatching a few polishes from Londontown in my last post, I wanted to do a design with one of the polishes! Like I mentioned before, BRILL-ant way my favourite out of the 4 polishes I tried out and so I did a simple but cool geometric design over top of it.

Feeling Spacey (+Star Stud Review)

I'm sure you guys know by now that I love glitter, but I don't often have an excuse to work it into my designs. When I received these two holo polishes from Live.Love.Polish though I finally had an excuse to have glittery, holo nails!

NAFW2016 Day 5: Style Icon

Day Five of Fashion Week challenged us to pick our favourite fashion blogger or style icon! I chose the lovely Lupita Nyong'o because I swear she makes everything she wears look absolutely stunning!

The dress that Nyong'o is wearing in the inspiration photo is from the Giambattista Valli F/W 2014 Collection.

Boo-tiful

Halloween is just around the corner! Less than 3 days! Are you guys as excited as I am?
Speaking of things I'm excited about - I may be a little biased in this matter since they're my own nails - but I'm really excited to share this super cute Halloween design with you guys! After my previous manicure with the glow-in-the-dark bats I was really undecided about whether I wanted to go for a creepy or a cute design this time around. As much as I love a good, creepy Halloween design, I have about zero resistance to cute things and so this happened!
(Warning: I may have went a bit overboard with the amount of pictures I took of this design so be prepared!)

Radiant Orchid: Take Two

Here's a more graphic versus literal interpretation of radiant orchid.
I was going to do all of the nails like the ring finger and thumb but I thought the single line of chevron was too cute to add to!

My roommate also informed me that the chevron looks like little hearts and therefore this is a very appropriate design for valentines day.

Essie - Grow Stronger Base Coat
Essie - 929 Recessionista
Essie - 1023 The Girls Are Out

30 Day Nail Challenge, Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

I've been excited about this prompt since the beginning of the challenge. I love having an excuse to go through all the runway fashion scouring for interesting prints since fashion is one of my biggest inspirations for nails!
This one is inspired by the Marc Jacobs Spring 2014 Collection, (that can be viewed here). I thought the print was fun and kind of felt heavy enough to be wearable in fall even though it's part of the spring collection, (and from the amount of this print in the collection it looks like the designer was as taken by this print as I was).

As for the nails themselves, I forgot that the purple Essie looks more red in the bottle than it does when it dries, so that's what accounts for my base being slightly more purple. But I really do enjoy this look, even thought the colour scheme ended up being a little off.

30 Day Nail Challenge, Day 6: Purple Nails

I tried my hand at another non-glitter gradient, and I think I'm getting a bit better at them!
The flash on the camera was making the colours come out a little more blue than they looked in reality, but I think it looks pretty cool either way.

Products Used:
Rimmel London - 100 Base & Top Coat
Revlon - 955 Quick Dry Base Coat
Revlon - 280 Orbit
China Glaze - 1193 Whirled Away
Borghese - B115 Bianco White Tip
Borghese - B476 Incantato Purple
Sally Hansen - 360 Pronto Purple

Stamping

I got an entire nail stamping set for Christmas, (plates, scraper, stamper), and this is the first time I've actually used it for a manicure!
I've been kind of trying it out on old manicures before I take them off just to see how it works, but  this is the first time I'm using it seriously. It took me a while to figure out how to use it, (I kept letting the nail polish sit too long and it would dry in the stamp), but it's really easy now that I know what I'm doing!

I'm really impressed with the stamps, and they work very well with regular nail polish.
The base colour here is actually purple, but when it was on it looked black, purple, or navy, depending on the light.

Revlon - 955 Quick Dry Base Coat
Revlon - 280 Orbit
Essie - 941 Good As Gold
