Why So Serious?

Once again, as some of you may know, SHINee made their comeback two days ago with Chapter 2 of their 3rd Studio Album, Why So Serious?: The Misconceptions of Me.
Since I did a manicure inspired by their Dream Girl music video, it's only fitting that I do one inspired by the music video for their title track Why So Serious? too!

Like last time, each nail is inspired by either an outfit or a scene from the music video!
These took a really long time to do, almost 2 hours deciding on scenes and then the feat of grabbing a good screenshot for reference, and then almost 3 hours to do the actual painting. It was totally worth it, though, since I'm just as in love with this manicure as I was with my Dream Girl one!

Ahhh, I'm just really happy with these, they're going to make me smile all week!

30 Day Nail Challenge, Day 10: Gradient Nails

This is actually a manicure I've been thinking of for a while, but it came out nothing like what I imagined. The orange was too dark, the blue was too bright, the birds were too big... Overall I wan't very pleased with this manicure and actually ended up taking it off after a day.
Oh well, maybe I'll try again later with some different colours.

Products Used:
Revlon - 955 Quick Dry Base Coat
Rimmel London - 100 Base & Top Coat
Borghese - B115 Bianco White Tip
Covergirl - 240 Coral Silk
L'Oréal - 105 Club Prive
Quo by Orly - 59701 Black

...And with that I'm done the "Colour" section of this nail challenge! I'm a third of the way through! I may put together a cumulative post for this first section, but we'll see.
Next I'm moving on to the "Patterns" section.

Gentleman

As you've likely heard, Psy released his newest single "Gentleman" a few days ago on April 13th.
Though Psy may not be my absolute favourite kpop artist, I still couldn't resist doing a manicure inspired by the music video!

Like my Dream Girl Nails, each design is directly inspired by a scene in the video, (as you can see above).
I tried to keep a balance between Psy and Ga In, so two outfits for each of them plus the cover of the single make up this manicure.

I must say that I'm pretty pleased with this manicure! I might start to do more Kpop inspired manicures if they keep turning out like this!

30 Day Nail Challenge, Day 9: Rainbow Nails

Ah, rainbow nails. I'll be perfectly honest, these were probably the nails I was least looking forward to doing in this entire challenge. So much so that I've actually been dreading it and rationalized putting it off for two weeks because of Easter and new studs.
I'm a fan of colour schemes and the whole rainbow thing just doesn't really appeal to me. Obviously there are exceptions, like my Dream Girl Nails, but since those have a theme they work for me.
Moving on though, I had the absolute hardest time trying to decide what to do for these nails, I thought about trying a stained glass look, or water marbling over a gradient then I was thinking about doing the glitter rainbow on all of my nails, but this is the look I finally ended up with.
On the ring finger I placed the pieces of glitter in colour-coded rows and on the rest of the fingers I did a rainbow gradient. I used a stamping plate to get the black lines over the rainbow.

Denim Jeans

A few months ago I bought a denim nail polish and never got around to actually using it for a manicure, so when my studs came in from bornprettystore, I knew that I just had to combine the two.
Can you tell that I tried to get the jean texture? No? A little? Anyways, I did press the almost-dry polish into some old jeans to get the texture, and though it isn't as noticeable as I would have liked, I still think it adds to them.
As for the studs, I absolutely love them! I've only had this manicure on for a day, so as of now I'm not sure about how long they'll stay on, but I adore the way they look and I think I'm going to have to talk myself out of using them every week from now on!
