I am absolutely, ridiculously late on posting this design, but I hope you'll forgive me.

The pandemic, followed by moving to a new country for a job (I moved to Korea!!) left me with very little mental energy and physical time to do nail design write ups.

BUT, I'm back and hopefully will be able to get caught up at some point.

So without further ado, here is my design inspired by BTS' song ON!

Honestly, it's been a while since I painted this design, so I don't remember a whole lot of the design process, but I do remember watching the MV a lot and I had a couple of different ideas sketched out on my brainstorming sheet.

I think the decision to paint a lot of this design on a negative space background fit well with the natural elements of the music video, paired with the solid nail for the wall, and then again for the album cover.

I was really worried about painting both the bird and the shell, as I'm notoriously bad at shading with colours (or at least I feel that way). So I was really pleased that the shading actually came out half decently, and you can tell what each thing is haha

I liked painting the wall on the ring finger though; figuring out the dry brush for the wall, and then a semi-pointillism approach for the greenery was really fun.
