Let me introduce you to some new thangs πΆπ₯π
Can you believe that this is my first ever full on NCT design?? Me neither.
I'm always a sucker for SM groups, and while I don't follow NCT as closely as EXO or SHINee, I do still listen to all of their albums and watch their mvs. I actually sketched out an idea for a design inspired by Firetruck years ago, but I wasn't happy with it so it never saw the light of day.
I'm much happier with this Kick It design, and I hope you are, too!
So I had a LOT of ideas for this design. There was just so much going on in the mv, I was pausing all the time to sketch out ideas.
My main goal though, was to keep the majority of the design black and yellow, because I felt like those were the most prominent colours in the mv. I think I did a pretty good job of that, with 3/5 nails having yellow on them, and then the other two featuring a splash of red as an accent.
It's maybe a bit hard to tell what it is, but I really like the ring finger with Johnny's kicking silhouette. With a title like Kick It, I couldn't resist putting someone actually doing a kick into the design. I also like how it kind of mirrors the pinky nail, with the black silhouette of the nunchakus.
I had a couple different ideas sketched out of dragons, but I ended up going with this yellow neon one, because it was a nice inverse of the ring and pinky designs.
I actually quite liked this album musically as well. While Kick It isn't my favourite NCT title track (as of writing it's probably Favourite (Vampire)), I downloaded quite a few tracks from this album, more than I had from any of their previous one.
If you want to try this design out for yourself you can check out the tutorial on my Youtube channel below. Please remember to tag me (@nyanails or #looknyanails) on Instagram if you recreate this design so that I can see them!
Enjoy!
