Caught in Your Web

Halloween might be over for another year, but I still wanted to share this cobweb-covered design with you guys!

For this year's Halloween design I was inspired by a print I saw on pinterest! I wanted to do something quick and simple and thought that this would be perfect since it's just lines, but I may have forgotten to factor in the issue of thin, straight lines being difficult to paint. I started out painting this design with acrylic paint since I thought it would be easier to just be able to scratch off any mistakes I made, but the paint I have is a little old and chunky and it wasn't really going onto the nail in the way I wanted it to. After the first nail I ended up switching back to black polish. That presents it's own set of challenges, since polish dries faster and this particular bottle of black polish was starting to get gummy. After a bit of struggling and a much larger time investment than anticipated, I did manage to get the webs to turn out pretty well!

I wanted to have a bit of fun with the nails as well, so I rifled through our Halloween decorations I happened to find this gummy spider who I thought would make for some cool pictures with this design!

Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!
