Canada Day 2016

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians!

I always struggle a bit with holiday manicures because having to come up with a new design for the same theme every year can be a challenge. And really, there's only so much you can do with the Canadian flag.

Last year I had a moment of inspiration and used some Canadian animals (a polar bear, a moose, a beaver, and a Canadian goose) for the design which turned out great!
Since I love painting cute little characters, I wanted to keep that theme for this year, and the result was this cute little beaver in a Mountie uniform! Can't get any more Canadian than that, eh? : P

The spacing of my letters didn't turn out quite as well as I had hope, but what can you do. I was on a bit of a time crunch while painting these and may or may not have been working on them until like 3am in June 30th, so I wasn't really in the mood to go back and fix my spacing. :P

The maple leaves turned out surprisingly well though and were relatively little hassle; looks like after all these years I'm finally starting to get the hang of drawing those things!

I hope you all have an awesome Canada Day!
