There were a lot of interesting trends to pick from (including velvet, puffed sleeves, and period pieces) but the one that I ended up going with was capes! One of my close friends got me a cape/poncho for my birthday last year so I've kind of been into capes lately. The one that I chose to recreate for Fashion Week is one from Gucci's Fall 2016 RTW Runway.
While this cape probably isn't one I would wear myself, I loved the contrasting colours and how clean the lines outlining the different colours looked.
The teal of the cape and the nails looks a little off in the pictures, but in real life the blue (Aqua-Intance from CND) is a very close match to the cape!
