Like I mentioned the first time I did this design, I was inspired by a really cool (and really expensive, it's like C$120!) sweater that I saw online:
I still really like this design and I have to admit that my roommate definitely had a good idea when she forced me to do this (Hi Brit! I don't think you actually read these blog posts but thank you anyways for the idea!).
Here are a few comparative collages so you can see the differences between my original design and this new recreation:
I can't believe how squished together my fingers are in the first collage and how far apart they are in the second one; I definitely did not know how to use space wisely. The lighting is also pretty bad in the "then" pictures; I'm so glad I now have a light box to use instead of trying to rely on the lighting from my dorm room window to take photos.
I also checked out the original post I made about these nails and wow, I was definitely very... succinct in the past. My posts have definitely gotten longer than two photos and two brief paragraphs of text, which is hopefully ok with you guys haha!
And the last thing I wanted to mention about these nails is the reason I repainted them in the first place: an anon on the main blog had asked me for a tutorial for this design!
As requested, here is the tutorial (you can also find a super short 15 second version of the tutorial on my Instagram here):
There's no voice-over in the video because a) I don't really have any audio recording equipment, b) I didn't really know what instructions to give, and b) I just really hate listening to recordings of my own voice (who doesn't).
Just let me know if you want/need any clarification for anything I did in the video and if you recreate the design tag your pics with #looknyanails on Instagram or Tumblr so I can see them!
