Dress to Kilt

More fall nails! 🍂🍁
I think this is my first attempt at plaid nails and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! ❤️

A few weeks ago I wanted to do a quick little design that still gave off fall vibes and this is what I came up with!
I had a little bit of an issue when I started painting them though: I had painted the nails a light shade of red and used a sheer black polish for the darker sections. The issue was that I had made the sheer black myself out of a quick dry topcoat and black polish, so when I went to remove the striping tape the polish had already semi-dried and pulled a lot of the base polish up with it. After that little mishap I realized that a darker red polish would give a similar look so that's what I went with for the rest of the design.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do on the two nails that I didn't paint tartan - I felt like full-on tartan nails would be too overwhelming - and tossed around a few ideas inspired by @nail_unistella, but as much as I love her designs I just wasn't feeling any of them on my own nails. I finally ended up just rummaging through my stash of nail accessories until I found these cute little bows from Daily Charme that fit with the design perfectly!
