Spaced Out

Hey guys! I haven't done space nails in a while, and this one is a little different from the other galaxy designs I've done in the past. Instead of gradients and glitter, for this take on a space mani i focused more on planets with a solid background to give a more cartoonish feel!

This design is inspired by a print that I stumbled across on Pinterest that I knew would make a super cute nail design! I'm really happy with how it turned out and my seemingly endless supply of CND polishes came to the rescue once again with this awesome navy blue shade that I used for the base! I had originally been considering using one of my dark blue Essie polishes but when I compared them to the print the colours didn't match up as nicely as I wanted them to. This led me to dig through my stash of polishes and voila! I found CND's Navy Brat matched the background colour of the print perfectly!
I'm still missing some shades of polishes in my collection, so I did have to mix some colours up with acrylic paint in order to match the print, including for the red planet on my ring finger and the yellow-y planet on my pinky. Looks like it's time to expand my red and yellow polishes!
