Piece By Piece

I don't know about the rest of you, but April has been a really busy month for me. On top of participating in Nail Art Fashion Week two weeks ago, April is exam month for me so I've had a lot of studying and writing to do as well. The good news though is that EXAMS ARE OVER!! I'm officially done my third year of uni and am very much looking forward to having the next four months off from the stress of looming deadlines.

As a result of trying to concentrate on studying, this week's design is just a simple geometric pattern loosely inspired by Daily Charme's packaging!

Quick explanation about the thumb nail because I'm sure you've noticed that it looks nothing like the rest of the design: my original idea with these colours was to do a kind of abstract dry brush because I'd seen some designs like that on IG and thought they looked cool. I wasn't really pleased with it when I tried it out though, and ended up going in a different direction while still using the same colours. As I mentioned before though, I was doing this in between studying so I didn't really have the time to go back and redo the thumb, thus I ended up just leaving it like that.

Otherwise though I really do like this colour combination. The colours are kind of wintery, but I've been planning on doing something with Cocktail Bling and Bobbing for Baubles for a few months so that probably explains it. I also quite like the addition of the gold, I think it brightens things up a little.
