NAFW2016 Day 5: Style Icon

Day Five of Fashion Week challenged us to pick our favourite fashion blogger or style icon! I chose the lovely Lupita Nyong'o because I swear she makes everything she wears look absolutely stunning!

The dress that Nyong'o is wearing in the inspiration photo is from the Giambattista Valli F/W 2014 Collection.

Believe it or not I think this is only my second time ever doing a gradient dotticure! The only other time I can remember doing a dot gradient was three years ago (so long!!) when I was just starting out with the blog.
I don't think I quite captured the colours from the dress but hey, I worked with what I had.

I also had some fun making the 3D flowers to match the bodice of the dress! They're made out of little squares of tissue paper; I cut the little squares and then would place a square on my fingertip and push it down in the center with the pointy side of an orange stick. This made it crumple a bit an look more like a flower!
It was basically like being back in elementary school: do you guys remember doing something like that in art? Where you would put the tissue paper around the eraser-end of a pencil and glue it to paper? I remember doing that a lot in grade school!
