Pretty in Pink (Rose Stud Review)

It’s still exams, so sadly I still have limited time on my hands for nails. I decided to throw together another simple design to go with these 3D rose studs that I’m reviewing for Born Pretty Store!

These roses are 7mm in diameter and about 6mm tall. They come in a set of 5 and are available in 12 different colours (the dark pink ones that I have here are colour 9).

This is another one of those products that when I asked to try it I obviously didn’t bother checking out the dimensions, or if I did the size didn’t register with me. What I’m trying to get across here is that these studs are huge. Like “I’m afraid to touch anything because I know the studs will get caught and be pulled off my nail” huge.

Even though 7mm is a little large and takes up most of the width of my nail, I can deal with the diameter, (the studs lie almost flat, so I’m only a little concerned about them falling off for that reason). It’s the height of these that kills it. I know that 6mm doesn’t sound that bad, but trust me on this. Unless you’re planning on doing absolutely nothing with your hands (including touching your hair; I’m definitely worried about the studs getting caught) then these studs will be pretty impractical.

Maybe it’s just me and I’m not used to 3D charms, but yeah, definitely impractical in my opinion.

Moving on from that though, they are definitely pretty roses and I like how the petals have depth. Even though I’ve said I’m worried about them being pulled off my nail, when they’re not in rough situations they seem to stick to the nail pretty well (I used a topcoat to attach them).

I’m also impressed by how many colours these roses come in (I had such a hard time picking which colour to try out), from pink to black to blue and a bunch in between.

So all in all, which I definitely think these studs would be impractical for everyday wear, they are quite pretty and might be doable as a one-night-only design if you’re careful. If you’d like to try these studs out for yourself they are available in the Nail Art Section of BPS and sell for C$3.74 (US$3.07) for a pack of 5.
Don’t forget that BPS has full worldwide shipping and that you can use my code FHX31 for 10% off your order!
