Over these past few years Sunmi has consistently released bop after bop, and while I've loved all of her comebacks since Gashina, Noir was the one that really stood out to me in terms of design potential. The song is so interesting in its commentary on the social media age, and the visuals that it used really pushed me to make this design.
If you haven't seen the music video for Noir before, I highly recommend that you check it out (you can do so by clicking here). I remember hearing something about Sunmi comparing Noir films with today's obsession with capturing every moment for social media which influenced the song and mv and I thought it was a really interesting perspective.
For the design, I wanted emulate the music video by showcasing the surface level hearts and likes as well as the harmful negativity that can hide underneath. To do this I focused on her two makeup looks from 1:49-2:04 in the music video.
For the thumb I combined the candy heart that Sunmi eats at the very beginning of the music video with the logo for Noir because I couldn't decide which one I wanted to paint more.
