I Can't Be-leaf

Originally posted on April 3rd, 2019.

I called it all the way back in April, and I was right that this design was one of my favourites of the entire year.

This design came about because I received a PR mailer from China Glaze with their "The Arrangement" collection. It's a really pretty collection and I wanted to do something with the polishes from it. I think I'd been wanting to do some kind of pink-based floral/leafy design for a while and this collection gave me the perfect opportunity. I used Señora Flora for the base colour, which I found out  was a matte polish as I was putting it on. For the leafy part of the design I used Show 'Em Who's Blossom as well as some other non-China-Glaze polishes (which are all listed below).

Since I really loved how the matte finish of Señora Flora looked with the leaves, I decided to forego the topcoat for this design to really let the contrast between the base and the leaves shine.

The leafy pattern was inspired by a print that I saw on Pinterest (you can find it here).

Products Used:
China Glaze - Señora Flora
China Glaze - Show 'em Who's Blossom
CND - Cut to the Chase
Essie - Mink Muffs
Essie - Vested Interest
Essie - Waltz

xo,
Becca.
