I've been really busy with final projects and exams this past month but now that this semester is over I have time to update the blog again and get back on top of posting my designs! I did this particular design near the beginning of April.
This design was inspired by a super cute print that I saw on Pinterest and have had saved for a little while. I actually had a bit of a hard time getting the proportions of the elephant right and had to redo the design because the first time around I made the balloon way too big and subsequently made the body way too small.
I tried to go for a more painterly effect here and used watered down acrylic paints to simulate watercolours and to fill in the elephant and the balloon. I think the technique worked pretty well! I also used acrylic paint for the clouds and built it up a little to give some of the clouds some texture.
