Hey guys! I’m reviewing some holographic foils for BPS today!
This foil comes in a one-strip set and is available in 8 different patterns (I’ll be reviewing pattern #160 here). The product description says that the strip is 1 m by 4 cm and while I didn’t actually check these measurements you do get a lot of foil.
Now, you guys may remember that back in October I reviewed a different holo foil for BPS and given my lack of success last time you may be wondering why I decided to ask to try foils out again. The difference, you see, is that this time I was going in with a plan.
If you keep up with nail trends then you’ve probably encountered shattered glass nails before. I’ve definitely seen my fair share of glass nails and have been dying to try it out for forever; all I needed was foil. So with that in mind I chose a foil pattern that I thought would look good as shattered glass and away we went.
To do shattered glass nails you basically ignore the product instructions and cut the foil up into long triangles instead.
Once you’ve got your triangles ready then all you have to do is topcoat your nails and use a wax stick to place the pieces in the wet topcoat! Once the pieces have been placed add a topcoat over top and you’re done!
As you can probably tell from the photos, using the foils this way turned out way better for me. They cut pretty easily and were easy to pick up and place with the wax stick. Some of the pieces stuck up a little even after topcoat, but I think that was my fault for putting them on my nail when the polish underneath had dried too much already and they therefore couldn’t stick to it.
Overall I was pretty pleased with this product; it definitely works well when used this way! I kind of wish I’d asked to try pattern #43 instead just to get the complete holo effect but what can you do. If you’d like to try this product out for yourself it retails for C$4.09 (US$3.07) for one 1m sheet.
Don’t forget that you can use my code FHX31 to get 10% off your order (on top of BPS’ free worldwide shipping!)
Thanks for reading!

Becca.
