Leopard Print Vinyls Review

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks! I've been super busy with school (and I still am sobs), and I also took a tip to Montreal with some friends over reading week so I've had pretty much no time to write up blog posts. Hopefully I'll be less busy after October aka Midterm season. >.<

Anyways, it's review time! Today I’ll be talking about some vinyls that I received from Born Pretty Store.

These vinyls come in a one-strip set and each strip has 12 vinyls in two different patterns (2 patterns x 6 vinyls each).

These vinyls came without any kind of instructions (I’m assuming there was supposed to be a cardboard tag or something, but it was missing) so I just use the instructions from the product description to test these out.

These vinyls are pretty easy to use: you just cut one of the rectangles out, detach it from the plastic backing, and stick it to your nail. Then you just paint over it with whatever colour polish you want and then carefully peel it off the nail. And voila! Super easy leopard print. (Sorry for the super poor quality cell phone pic below - it's the only one I remembered to take while painting).

I was actually pretty surprised at how well these work. The outlines of the shapes were very clean, which is what you want out of a vinyl. One tip I’ll give you for working with vinyls is to always topcoat the nail you’ll be using the vinyl on BEFORE you use the vinyl. If you don’t put on a topcoat and wait for it to dry before using the vinyl, there’s a very high chance of the vinyl being too sticky and pulling off your base colour when you try to remove the vinyl.

These vinyls are probably meant for one time use, but because I didn’t want to waste them, I used one vinyl for 4 nails. Probably not something I’d recommend doing, but as long as you wait for the pain on the vinyl to dry before trying to use it on another nail it works pretty well.

Overall I think that this is a good product if you’re looking to do some quick, easy stars or leopard print. If you’d like to try these vinyls out for yourself you can find them here, and they sell for C$5.53 (US$4.59). These vinyls also come in 5 other patterns (technically 10 other patterns since each strip has 2 patterns on it).

Don’t forget that BPS offers free worldwide shipping on all offers and you can use my code FHX31 for 10% off your order!

Oh! And I almost forgot to mention that these were the nails I had for my 20th birthday last Monday! I'm not a teenager anymore; it feels weird (actually it feels pretty much the same but thinking about it feels weird :P).

Thanks for reading!

xo,
Becca.
